John, you rock, I dig your style !!!
Regarding PPR leagues, what players what see a bigger than normal bump in the rankings in a PPR league ? WR,RB,TE’s

    • John Paulsen:

WRs and TEs are enhanced in value compared to RBs and QBs. Receiving RBs get a big bump over RBs that don’t catch many passes.

  • Christian:

where would you rank lee evan’s for a ppr league?

    • John Paulsen:

Late-round flier. Under 1,200 total yards the last two seasons so his best days are behind him….could go for 800 if he really clicks with Flacco.

  • Grey:

John, in your PPR boards, how much wait do you give: 1 PPR or 0.5 PPR? And which do you find more enjoyable/prefer to play, if either?

    • John Paulsen:

1 PPR. I’ve never played in a 0.5 PPR league but it’s probably a reasonable compromise for PPR and standard scoring advocates.

Hi I just completed my draft and a friend in my league is a huge giants fan and wants Mario from me. I am really high on him this yar though but I love Kenny Britt breakout potential.

Were in a PPR league. Should i trade Mario straight up for Britt?

    • John Paulsen:

Mario has more value IMO than Britt this year, but Britt has a little more upside. The kid is a total knucklehead though — the difference in upside is not big enough to warrant the risk. I think Mario will have a great season.

  • brent:

i agree on mario over kenny britt with steve smith gone and kevin boss also gone the giants will focus their pass attempt to hakeem and mario and hakeem will be getting doubled with safeties over the top and a dose of aso and revies this yr leaving manningham in single coverage a lot

i got manningham finishing near the top 10 this yr and a steal in the 4/5 elbow area

  • Tyler:

Thanks for updating the PPR Rankings!! I was wondering when ya were….

  • Ben Schmidt:

Are your combined WR/RB rankings only available at 4for4?

  • Dan:

    Hey John,
I have a question for you. Do you think Percy Harvin might be able to do what Santana Moss did last year, now that McNabb is in Minnesota? They are a lot alike (I think Percy is better,) but I don’t know how alike their offenses are.

  • Anthony:

Im just curious as to what your thoughts are on H. Douglas in ATL. I look for those diamonds in the rough type players early and he seems like one of those guys. Everyone is looking for Roddy and Julio to be the big scores which is understandable but looking at how much Douglas was involved in the offense in the preseason, hes the guy that is gonna be open with tons of space because all eyes are on Roddy and Julio. Im in a 12 team ppr league and if the preseason is any kind of indication, Douglas doesn’t look too bad as a wr4 for now/stash away. Your thoughts?

    • John Paulsen:

I like Douglas as a WR5 type in the later rounds. It will be interesting to see of ATL follows through with their plan to pass more. Otherwise, he won’t have much value. He’s getting rave reviews, however, and it appears that the Falcons plan on using him.

    Hi John,
Many of my teams are RB heavy. I am looking to pick up a WR off of waivers that may have some high upside of putting up WR2 or even WR1 numbers. do you have any recommendations? I was fortunate enough the past few seasons to snag sydney rice and brandon lloyd. Would you say, Terrell Owens is my best bet at this point?

    • John Paulsen:

Yes, if you have room to stash, I think T.O. has a great chance to post top 30 numbers over the last half of the season.

  • Jessica:

    Hi John!

12 tm PPR. I’m stacked at WR: Megatron, Marshall, Gates (yes, he’s a WR), Mario and Collie
RBs are CJ2K, Bradshaw, Lynch and a bunch of flyers
    My only QB is Stafford.
    4 pts per TD pass.
    We start 2 RB, 2 WR/TE, and 1 non-QB flex.

    I give: Stafford, CJ2K, Mario
I get: Romo, Jamal Charles, Mike Thomas.

I’d call the RBs a wash (I mean really, flip a coin). Mario is “only” my WR4 (but then again, I’ll be starting him if one of my top 3 go down.) So the real question is — is the upgrade from Stafford to Romo worth the downgrade from Mario to Thomas?? Do the deal? Thanks in advance.

  • Russ:

In a PPR, my WRs are Wayne, Maclin, Julio Jones, Meachem. Start two. Unfortunately my top two are guys that you have lowered in your rankings since my draft. Was Wayne’s showing this past week a fluke? Indy will be down most of the time and collins looked his way alot, but the megatron owner has shown interest in wayne. What are your thoughts about me giving up wayne and dmac for calvin and felix? i have decent RB depth (CJ2k, Dmac, deangelo, beanie) and start 2 with 1 in my flex.

    • John Paulsen:

      I lean Wayne/DMC over Calvin/Felix. It’s close though.

      • russ:

Do you think wayne’s production week 1 was high? Or can we expect him to put up similar numbers moving forward? After I saw your updated rankings I hit the panic button on wayne. Keep him or trade him?

  • phil:

Harvin and Manningham are both worthless this year. Manningham replaced by Cruz and Harvin does not click at all with McNabb. Two guys that you can giver away in my opinion.
